Marketing That Resonates: What Canada’s Talking About

From standout campaigns to what’s next in our industry, here’s what’s resonating across Canada.

In partnership with

Hey friend,

As part of our Canada Day reflections at Marketing News Canada, we asked our community to share the Canadian marketers and campaigns that made them proud, smile, or think. The responses were heartfelt, nostalgic, and full of admiration for the creativity thriving across this country.

We also take this moment to acknowledge the land we live and create on — the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island. We honour the ongoing presence, cultures, and contributions of Inuit, Métis, and all Indigenous communities.

Here's What Made Our Community Proud

Anything Ron Tite Does

Nominated by: Darian Kovacs
Sometimes a name says it all. Ron Tite, speaker, writer, and CEO of Church+State, is admired for his wit, storytelling, and bold approach to brand leadership. We’re on board.

“Come Hell or High Water” – Calgary Stampede

Nominated by: Jennifer Hadley
In the aftermath of Calgary’s devastating 2013 floods, the Calgary Stampede’s defiant and hopeful campaign by C&B Advertising rallied the city and the country. The simple phrase “Come Hell or High Water” became a powerful call to resilience, a masterclass in purpose-driven place branding.

Father’s Day at Kananaskis Nordic Spa

Submitted by: Arcade Studios
With soothing visuals and a heartwarming narrative, this campaign celebrated self-care and connection in the Alberta wilderness. This is a great example of experiential content that captures emotion and destination appeal.

Petro-Canada’s “Same Name, Different Place” Travel Campaign

Nominated by: Jyll Saskin Gales
In the heat of the U.S. tariff announcements, this clever campaign plays with Canadian towns that share names with U.S. cities. The result? A cheeky, patriotic nudge to explore locally. “Who needs Anaheim, Los Angeles, when you’ve got Anaheim, Saskatchewan?”

A Shoutout to the Humans Behind the Work

Shared by: Matt Borck of The One Group Agency
Matt reminds us that great campaigns start with people. He credits his team’s empathy-first approach, listening deeply and leading with care, as the real magic behind their marketing.

“It’s not about the agency — it’s about the humans behind it that I call friends.”

"Every Child Matters" by the Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada

Campaign: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Awareness
Agency: Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada (IACC)

Launched to honour residential school survivors and their families, this campaign powerfully leveraged storytelling, orange shirt symbolism, and social media activation. It partnered with Indigenous artists to create visuals rooted in lived experience — inviting Canadians to listen, reflect, and take meaningful action.

The initiative reached national audiences, including school boards, community groups, and major media — blending art, advocacy, and awareness. It’s a standout example of community-led messaging that centres Indigenous voices and values.

“We don’t want performative statements. We want reconciliation to live in action, through culture and education.” — Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada
